Your mother pours a glass of whiskey into the bird bath where you breed alligators. The alligators bubble up and drown in endless spirals.
She takes a plastic bag to collect the dead as they flow out and you accuse her of negligence. A director films your plight and your mother sprawls to the floor in tears. You tell the director, 'This film isn't suitable for children. There should be a PG-13 warning on it.' The director laughs and resumes filming the endless spirals of alligators that pour forth from the bird bath.
A fish learns to walk and becomes an alligator. It walks into the bird bath, dies, and becomes a part of the spiral. You are the film director, and the spiral is your state of mind. You try to open the jar to get to the extra ammo. Slowly, you realize are already inside the jar, and that the thing trapped inside with you is taking all of your ducks. It gets larger as it creeps up to you and says, 'time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.'
It's fish gently taps you back into a flashback where you are at a ball, a woman comes up to you and gently whispers a hamburger into your ear. Before you can respond it is over and you are left standing in the desert with a window frame.A fire burns in the distance as you look down you are turning into ants.
The sensation it creates has is not dissimilar to the effects of a hamburger. Quantity of releases is what drives mod development.
Frequent releases brings more interest in the project. More fans brings in more developers (artists/level designers I assume being their key need), keeps morale of current developers up (going years without releasing anything, with so much furthur to go has got to be a big drain on those guys) and eventually improves the overall quality as well as the production schedule. What they should have done, since the game is already divided into chapters, is focused on each one in succession and release them separately.
Heck, they could have released the tram ride as a teaser a long while ago. What they're trying to do now is develop and release an entire AAA game, a feat that took Valve themselves years of full time work by the entire company.tl;dr release early and often.
Why start an entirely new thread on this? I saw another thread that began talking about the gluon gun, why not post there? Instead of wasting forum space. I'm sorry, but you new members really need to stop making so many threads. 5 to 15 percent of your posts are new threads. That's not right.
80% of the time what you posted has been discussed. Now, on topic. The gluon gun wasn't really the best. It had a short range. The Gauss gun was nice.

You could even jump around with it. ^^Talking about the gluon gun non gameplay-wise, it was WAY too loud. Heh, got kind of annoying. Why start an entirely new thread on this? I saw another thread that began talking about the gluon gun, why not post there?
