::AuthorMessagecamplandfarmsRegularJoined: 31 Aug 2016Posts: 21Posted: Sun Jul 02, 2017 5:00 am Post subject: Oliver 77 Pulling Engine BuildI'm just finishing up an Oliver 77 engine rebuild, to do some pulling with, started with stock 216ci Super 77 gas engine, installed (shaved) 1550 head, manifold and exhaust. Engine started and ran great prior work, now am have great difficult getting the engine to start and run. There is spark and engine does start, spits and sputters and then quits. It almost seams the motor isn't getting enough fuel, I drained the tank and cleaned the sediment bowl, am running 93 Octane gas. I'm just using the stock carb for now planning on purchasing a 1550 carb.
